Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Day 1

Gather in the hotel lobby for an hour-long transfer to Ubud’s countryside, where a tranquil loop awaits beside picturesque rice paddies, a village known for its oranges, and lush greenery.

As we make our way to Ubud, soak in the charms of rural Balinese life. We’ll pause mid-morning for refreshing local coffee and maybe try some fresh coconuts. Along narrow backroads, expect warm greetings from the Balinese locals. Keep an eye out for sacred temples and catch glimpses of village ceremonies. Our guide will explain the significance of daily offerings.

Indulge in your first Balinese lunch with Nasi Campur, enjoying views of rice fields and spotting native birds. Then, we’ll ride to our hotel for check-in.

End the day with a delectable feast at a local restaurant, celebrating our first day of riding.

  • Day 2

Start your day bright and early with a 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes transfer to the hilly west of Ubud.

Along the way, catch glimpses of villagers heading to temples for morning prayers and farmers preparing for their day’s work. After visiting the Pura Luhur Batukaru temple, we’ll gear up for today’s ride. Expect one proper climb and some short steep climbs, typical of Bali’s topography as we move between hillsides.

We’ll ride through the Jatiluwih Rice Terrace, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Bali’s largest rice terraces, spanning over 600 hectares along the Batukaru mountain range. Mid-morning, we’ll stop at a local warung for a rejuvenating cup of Balinese coffee while taking in the view.

Continuing our journey amidst countless rice paddies, we’ll navigate Bali’s diverse topography. Lunch will be at a local warung overlooking the monkey forest, where you can peacefully observe playful monkeys in their natural habitat.

Hop back on the e-bike to meander through rice paddy fields, flower fields, backroads, and main roads as we make our way to your hotel in Ubud.

  • Day 3

Today, we venture to the East of Bali, starting with a one-hour transfer Northeast towards the volcanic Mount Batur. As you cycle through this tranquil area, enjoy views of Mount Abang and pass by traditional temples along the way.

Our next stop is the famous Penglipuran traditional village, meticulously preserved as a living museum of Balinese culture and way of life. You’ll have the chance to explore the village through guided tours and cultural performances.

For lunch, indulge in a home-cooked Balinese meal with scenic hillside views. After lunch, we’ll ride a few more kilometers down to the beach, where cold drinks await before a short transfer to the hotel.

Upon arrival at the hotel, settle into your room and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

  • Day 4

Today, we dedicate our time to the Kaura community. Lace up your comfiest walking shoes for a 4-hour (3 km) trekking trip to Jagasatru Waterfall.

After a short transfer from the hotel to the Kaura community, we’ll embark on a walk through lush forests, passing clusters of homes where bantam chickens roam and children play. The waterfall is a breathtaking sight, and the pool formed at its base offers a refreshing spot to cool off. Sitting next to a giant statue of Brahama, the waterfall holds spiritual significance for local Balinese. With experienced hiking guides from the Manggis community, this journey takes you well off the beaten path.

Next, we’ll participate in a water purification ceremony using the holy water from the waterfall site. This traditional ritual cleanses, purifies, and blesses the water, typically involving incense, flowers, and candles. Our guide will explain the symbolism behind these rituals.

After a fulfilling lunch, the choice is yours to continue the afternoon with a 2-hour village community walk guided by the village ambassador. Engage with the community, learn about their local coconut oil production, and meet the iconic goats. Alternatively, you can opt for a quick transfer back to your hotel for an afternoon of leisure by the swimming pool or beach.

  • Day 5

The day kicks off with a transfer to navigate the hilliest areas around Manggis before hopping on the e-bikes to head for the Tulamben coast.

Cycle along winding countryside roads fringed with palms, passing charming villages en route to the iconic Tirta Gangga water palace. This former royal residence in eastern Bali boasts reflective bathing pools and intricate stone carvings. Learn about its rich heritage before continuing on to Tulamben.

Enjoy panoramic views as you skirt the rugged eastern coastline, passing idyllic fishing villages scattered along the way. Take a moment to admire Bali’s iconic crystal-clear, rocky beaches. Pause for a well-deserved break, dipping your toes into the water. Along the ride to your hotel, visit a honey farm run by a deaf and mute couple.

  • Day 6

Make the most of the stunning Balinese coastline in Tulamben and relax in the comfort of your courtyard villa accommodation. Dive into the vibrant underwater world on a snorkeling trip, discovering colorful fish and coral along the shoreline. Two notable spots await exploration: the coral garden, ideal for picturesque snorkeling, and the USAT Liberty wreckage, a WWII-era American cargo ship sunk offshore.

Anchor down for lunch, indulging in another delicious Balinese meal featuring nasi campur, nasi goreng, and assorted snacks served picnic-style. After a day of aquatic adventures, we’ll return you to shore in the mid-afternoon, allowing you to enjoy Tulamben at your own pace before a farewell dinner with the group in the evening.

  • Day 7

As our wheels come to a halt around midday, we say goodbye to our cycling adventure, marking the end of our thrilling journey. While our escapade concludes during lunchtime, the path to the airport is yours to navigate. If you desire a smooth departure, our dedicated customer service team is here to help.
