Pathum Thani

Pathum Thani province has its original name “Mueang Sam Khok” which was established during the Ayutthaya era. It was the inhabitance for the Mon people moving from Mohtama in Myanmar more than 350 years ago. In 1815, when King Rama II paid a royal visit to the city, the inhabitants offered him a lot of Lotus flowers, which led the king to rename the city to the present name.

With numerous outstanding attractions, Pathum Thani has been one of the most attractive visiting places of Bangkok visitors. It was an old province filled with religious sites, museums, parks, markets, point of interest, exhibition centers and areas to experience Mon culture.
